Greek Destinations – Saronic Gulf & Peloponnese

Another interesting area for sailing is the Saronic Gulf Islands, situated in the southwest of Athens. These islands are close to each other, usually within a two or three hour sail and being protected from strong winds, offer a relaxing sailing under the sun and a chance to observe the variety of landscapes from one island to another. The main islands of the Saronic Gulf are Aegina, Angistri, Poros, Hydra and Spetses.

It is also worthwhile to sail along the eastern coast of the Peloponnese visiting Porto Cheli, Epidaurus and its ancient theater, Nafplion, Tiros, Leonidion, Kyparissi and Monemvasia with its stunning Byzantine ruins.
